History
Breakthrough, formerly Summerbridge, was established in 1995
as a program housed at Kent Denver School; the first summer session began with
eighteen teachers in training, who served a class of forty-six middle school
students. Since 1995, our dual mission of training teachers and serving
motivated middle school students has remained the same. In the process, we have
served more than nine hundred students and four hundred eighty high school and
college-age faculty.
