Volunteer for breakthrough

Summer 2024 Volunteer or Visit Opportunities

We are always looking for adults to run a successful program!

Below are different ways you can be involved!

Shark Tank Judge                                                                    July 10th & July 25th from 1pm to 3pm

Over the summer, students learn about entrepreneurship and create their own businesses. We are looking for judges who want to be “Sharks” and help us choose the strongest business proposals.
Career Day Volunteers                                                                        July 12th from 1pm to 3:30pm

One of our summer Fun Fridays exposes students to future careers and provides space for them to practice professional skills. There are two ways to volunteer for Career Day:

  • Present your job/career to students
  • Conduct mock interviews
10th Grade Capstone Panel                                                                     July 29th from 1pm to 3pm

At the end of four summers at Breakthrough, 10th-grade students have the opportunity to present what they have learned, who they are, and their future goals. We are looking for folks to sit on a panel to listen and score these final presentations.
    Host a 10th grade Intern!

Breakthrough is looking for individuals and organizations to host one or multiple 10th-grade student for a week-long internship. 10th-grade interns can learn about the history of the organization, understand the work and target group,  as well as support with daily tasks such as making phone calls, organizing office space, inputting data, or whatever feels age-appropriate to your work!

Past organizations that have hosted Breakthrough interns are Gates Corporation, Denver Public Schools, and Lakewood Community Garden! If you think you or your organization would be a good fit, please reach out to discuss this opportunity!

Dates for summer 2024 internship: Monday, July 22nd through Friday, July 26th (We are flexible on start and finish times)
